Yara Mroueh represents employers in high-stakes employment law matters, with a particular focus on complex litigation and strategic advice and counsel. She defends employers in nationwide wage and hour class and collective actions under both federal and state laws, complex discrimination and retaliation lawsuits, and other intricate employment disputes in federal and state courts nationwide. Yara also advises employers on navigating challenging compliance issues, workforce management strategies, and risk mitigation in dynamic regulatory environments.

Yara takes pride in being a trusted advocate and partner to her clients. She combines strong legal analysis with practical, business-minded solutions and partners closely with clients to understand what matters most to them. Her goal is always to deliver strategies that fit each organization’s unique needs and values.

Her experience spans all facets of employment law, including wage and hour audits, workplace investigations, employee discipline, contract disputes, harassment and retaliation claims, and federal and state discrimination matters. Yara regularly delivers mandatory compliance trainings in both English and Spanish, tailored to meet the needs of diverse workforces.

Yara has successfully litigated and resolved numerous complex cases before courts and administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Illinois Department of Human Rights, Illinois Department of Labor, and Illinois Department of Employment Security. She also leverages alternative dispute resolution mechanisms—including private and agency-based mediation and court-sponsored settlement conferences—to achieve efficient and favorable outcomes for her clients.

Before joining Littler, Yara practiced in the commercial litigation and employment law groups of a full-service Chicago firm, representing private sector clients in sophisticated business and employment disputes. During law school, she earned a Labor and Employment Certificate, underscoring her longstanding commitment to this practice area.
